Grammar is poor food for the soul if it be not flavored with grace.
Charles Spurgeon
Imagination is a gift of God for our delight and use. For children, classic literature provides fertile ground to establish their imaginations. The Bible, with its rich array of literary types from poetry to histories, short stories to letters, forms their thinking and character. A wealth of Biblical themes and ideals is rooted in classic literature. Our American heritage of liberty and Christian self-government are ideals that are borne by our classic English literature.
Our children must be competent handlers of language at all levels. Language Mastery is essential. Teaching the mechanics of grammar, speaking, and writing are skills they need not only to maintain our heritage of liberty and self-government but also to restore our Biblical constitutional Republic that protects this heritage.
Teach the children:
- Language is God’s gift for our careful use and delight.
- The Bible is the highest model of language and the greatest book in the world.
- Great literature inspires us to love God and His Word, to love home and family, to appreciate God’s providence, and to love learning as the word ‘literature’ is defined as ‘learning.’
