Justice exists as an attribute of Creator God. He provides for humanity through his Word—Christ—as the arbitrator of man’s nature. We are mistaken to assume that equality is the basis of justice and that equality is the end goal. It is not. All men are created equal in value before God as they bear His image making life sacred. But a natural inequality among men exists in their attributes—talents, abilities, gifts, appearances, and properties. This ‘inequality’ is for the good of all. I Cor. 14:12ff
Christianity provided a form of government that provides a well-spring of justice in human dealings from the fount of internal Christian character that would transform the nature of man inwardly by “the vital force of distinctive ideas and principles.”
Two commandments from our Lord: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22: 37-40), became the distinctive Christian Mark and the bond of union of first century Christians.
Teach the children:
1. The Bible is the “textbook of liberty” containing God’s principles of justice that protect life and property and create unity among men.
2. True social justice and equal rights are found in the Biblical principles of the two great commandments: Love God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:37).
