Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. II Corinthians 3:17 KJV
The root of every principle that built American liberty is in Christ.
In the American colonies, the world’s long struggle to resolve law with liberty was achieved in a constitution to protect the practice of self-government. What brought diverse and distant colonies together as one mind to unite as a nation? It was accomplished by the widely practiced teaching and preaching of the simple, Biblical Christian theology of the Reformation compiled in The Marrow of Theology written by Reformer William Ames. Little known today, Marrow was a best seller for 100 years in the colonies and a mainstay in the curriculum in the colleges and the pulpits.
Education in Christ was the glue that bound the colonies into a nation. Therefore, education in Christ is the means and model to restore American liberty today.
Teach the Children:
1. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be encumbered once more by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1 BSB
2. Christianity is the only religion allowing individual liberty and civil self-government.
3. Our hope is in Christ alone as individuals and as a nation.
Let the American youth never forget that they possess a noble inheritance, bought by the toils, and sufferings, and blood of their ancestors;and capacity, if wisely improved, and faithfully guarded, of transmitting to their latest posterity all the substantial blessings of life, the peaceful enjoyment of liberty, property, religion, and independence. Commentaries on the Constitution, 1833
