Celebrating America’s Story

by | FACE News

“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

John Adams, 1798

As Americans, what a privilege it is this year to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of our Declaration of Independence! It is an opportunity for all to remember the hard-won gains of a generation of colonists prepared by the Bible to establish a union on the principle of Christian self-government.

“Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”

Among those who authored the Declaration of Independence and drafted the United States Constitution were individuals formed by moral reasoning steeped in Biblical wisdom, classical philosophy, and historical understanding. The education that prepared them for this monumental task was not designed to produce specialists, technicians, or credentialed professionals, but to form moral character capable of sustaining liberty.

The Principle Approach®—authentic American Christian education—is the same wisdom and method of learning that were employed by the founding generation that wrote the Declaration and secured it. Today, the Principle Approach is still practiced by thousands of families, teachers, and students.

The FACE mission in action

Our Principle Approach Master Teacher training program equips teachers with the skills and knowledge to teach American Christian education. Meanwhile, the FACE Leading Schools Program nurtures local Principle Approach schools as community teaching centers for all generations. The Hall-Slater Library welcomes groups to its mission of preserving over 12,000 volumes, journals, booklets, sermons, and pamphlets that validate America’s Christian history as a defense against revisionist history.

Today, it is a joy and a privilege to be an American, but it carries a serious responsibility. While we celebrate this extraordinary milestone of 250 years since our Declaration of Independence, we must commit to educating the next generation to keep it. Thank you for joining us in this high calling to teach the children and preserve their legacy of liberty.
