What is a family?
Today’s secular culture would have us believe that a “family” can be constituted from any combination of people, animals, and in the future, artificial intelligence (robots!). But God’s flawless plan is specifically constituted and has the specific purpose of building a Christian civilization.
What is a Biblical family?
The Biblical home could be called a “nursery for the soul” designed by the Hand of God as the basic component of civilization with a two-fold mission: first, parents nurture the physical development and maturity of the child. Secondly, parents provide the education based upon the moral training and spiritual nurtureof their children. By nature, the Christian family hasa generational purpose. The family forms the culture and its future citizens. Christian parents preserve the civil and political character of authentic American liberty which determines our future national prosperity and our future enjoyment of liberty.
The precious gift of family is God’s design for the universe and the continuance of the human race. Our national heritage and future depends upon following the admonition of God in Deuteronomy chapters 4-6 to parents to teach children His word:
Teach the Children
- Obey the Fifth Commandment: “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.” Exodus 20:12 ESV
- Learn the habits of industry, study, frugality and morality. These are best formed in the home and at an early age.
- Engrave Bible truths on your heart. These truths will hold you steadfast in all of life and will not be erased.
You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
