“He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” Micah 6:8
God is the only source of justice in a fallen world. We “do justice” when we walk humbly in love honoring the Word of God in all of life and human affairs.
The Bible answers the ultimate questions upon which justice is sounded. Denying God’s Word on ultimate questions leaves us victim to man’s subjective and faulty reason.
Teach the children the ultimate questions and Biblical answers that define justice:
Ultimate Questions… | Biblical Justice says… | Social Justice says… |
Who has ultimate authority? | God, through Special Revelation (the Bible) | Victims are the final authority, or even the claims of victims. |
Who is man? | Individuals created in God’s image with inherent dignity and immeasurable worth. | A creature who is wholly socially determined by race, sex, gender, or sexual identity. |
What caused mankind’s problem? | Rebellion against God | Straight white men oppressing others. |
What is the solution? | The Gospel: Reconciliation with God. | Revolution: Oppressed people must overthrow oppressive power structures. |
“Christianity thinks that a great many things have gone wrong with the world that God made and that God insists, and insists very loudly, on our putting them right again.” C.S. Lewis
