The Foundation for American Christian Education (FACE) welcomed ten teachers and administrators from across the nation to its Teaching Center in Chesapeake, Virginia, for The Application Course, held July 6–10, 2026. This intensive, week-long seminar represents the second level of teacher training in the Principle Approach® philosophy and methodology, with a concentrated emphasis on curriculum development.
Having successfully completed both The Foundation Courseand Practicum I, participants were prepared to deepen their understanding of a Biblical philosophy of education while applying Principle Approach methods to the design of classroom instruction.
Throughout the week, educators studied topics including The Christian Idea of the Teacher and the Child, the 4-R Process, Curriculum Development with the Bible at the Base, Unit and Lesson Planning, and Biblical Reasoning and Reflecting. Afternoons were devoted to guided research and curriculum writing in the Hall Slater Library, where participants utilized FACE’s collection of primary source materials to develop grade-level units for their own classrooms.
The Application Course equips educators to teach with greater mastery by emphasizing Christian scholarship, Biblical reasoning, researching for curriculum development, and thinking governmentally, hallmarks of Principle Approach education. These principles reflect the same methods of education that formed America’s Founding Generation, who documented the Biblical and civil principles on which the foundation of our constitutional republic rests.
The journey toward Principle Approach mastery continues next summer, when this cohort will return to the FACE Teaching Center for The Exhibition Course. There, participants will present their completed curriculum projects before receiving their Principle Approach Master Teacher Certification, joining a growing community of educators committed to restoring our Christian Republic through Biblical education for future generations.
