“The Old Testament, …provided a productive intersection between politics and religion, a political theology … could also help unite a growing number of dynamic political entities—the American states—around well-known and revered scriptural narratives, structures, and models.”
Shalev, Eran., American Zion (p. 12).
The Bible makes clear that God interacts with both individuals and nations (Psalm 110:6), but what defines a nation? Are borders necessary or optional? While exact numbers are elusive, the present administration has allowed more than 10 million immigrants to enter this country illegally over the last three years, including an estimated 30,000 military-age Chinese men. This policy appears to have two goals: reshape Congressional apportionment and create new Democrat voters. On the other hand, the Bible instructs us to be gracious to aliens (Exodus 22:21); what’s a Christian to think – and do?
As Christian Americans, we have a unique historical heritage in relation to our nation and its internal and external borders. We were consciously founded on the Biblical model of the Hebrew Republic.
Teach the Children
- To repent and pray for God to have mercy and renew the founding American covenant: “If My people, who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I shall hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” II Chronicles 7:14, 15
- Learn the Biblical principles of economic, constitutional, and civic values that could save and then rebuild our modern democratic-socialist disaster into a Constitutional Republic one once again.
- Bring aliens and strangers into covenant with God and offer the blessing of covenant to those who are now present within our borders.
“From one man He made every nation of men to settle upon all the face of the earth, after He determined fixed times and the boundaries of their habitations. God is seeking to find whether they would even seek after tokens of Him and find Him, and truly He is not far from any one of us.”
