Much of current thought about race devalues the word of God and the Christian values that undergird our traditional national character. It is absolutely true that humankind’s fallen nature harbors many sins, few as divisive as prejudice based upon God-created racial differences. Only faith in Christ ameliorates sin.
Using race as the prism to view life is Marxist critical race theory currently creating a deep divide among Americans. Marx’s idea to divide people into the “oppressed” and the “oppressors” has destroyed several nations and is aimed at the dissolution of our union as a Republic.
What is the Biblical answer?
Marxist theory coerces external “diversity, equity and inclusion” through education. In contrast, Christian education inspires voluntary internal change by enlightening the understanding, correcting the temperament, forming the manners and habits of youth, and fitting them for usefulness in life as given in II Timothy 3:16, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of Godmay be complete, equipped for every good work.”
Racism is embedded in the human heart, cannot be eradicated by external “controls” that undermine Christian self-government. Racism can be purged through faith in Christ alone.
Teach the Children:
- Every individual has equal value in bearing God’s image and purpose.
- As you align your heart with God’s Word, your conscience will guard your heart from all sin and your love for all people will increase.
- Consenting to the rule of Christ is the first step in conquering the sin of racism.
