Teach the children: When you have a big task before you, remember Nehemiah whose task was to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem. God has called his people today to be rebuilders, with the task of rebuilding the culture beginning with ourselves.
How did Nehemiah begin? By praying boldly,
“O Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of your servant, and to the prayer of your servants who delight to fear your name, and give success to your servant today, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.”
Nehemiah 1:11
Then, Nehemiah organized the rebuilding work and, sooner than you think, by working diligently, the walls neglected for nearly a century and a half were rebuilt in less than two months!
Remember Nehemiah’s method:
• Pray boldly as you honor and delight in the Lord.
• Get organized for the task.
• Work diligently.
“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him ….”
Colossians 2:8-9
