Guidelines for quoting or reprinting excerpts from the Foundation for American Christian Education’s publications
Thank you for your interest in the publications of the Foundation for American Christian Education. In referencing and quoting our materials, you partner with us in fulfilling our mission to remind America of her Christian history, equipping her to courageously answer God’s call.
You may quote from the Foundation’s materials without express written permission if you properly cite the quote in your publication and do not quote more than 10% of a copyrighted work or two pages, whichever is smaller. For this type of quotation, please cite it in the appropriate format listed below (for more information on appropriate citation, please see “Documentation 1: Basic Patterns” in The Chicago Manual of Style, 15th Edition):

- the reference (including the work’s title, author, and the page numbers where the excerpt is found)
- how you intend to use the material (web site, article, web journal, book, etc.)
- if you intend to sell the finished product, how many you intend to print, number of pages, and price
- your contact information and preferred method and time to contact
If you desire to quote a public domain work contained in one of the Foundation’s compilations (such as William Bradford’s of Plimoth Plantation contained in Verna Hall’s The Christian History of the Constitution of the United States of America: Vol. I: Christian Self- Government), you may do so without express permission from the Foundation, although a citation is still necessary (the words of the work remains in public domain, although the Foundation owns the copyright to the layout and typesetting).
