Course Description: What is the unmistakable mark of a fully literate person? What is the mark of a great writer and/or communicator? What is the best way to get a soaring score on the SAT’s? Vocabulary, vocabulary, vocabulary!

Dr. Adams demonstrates for teachers and parents, the teaching of vocabulary within the FACE Classic Grammar program. Vocabulary acquisition is not easily achieved by listing and memorizing word definitions. Acquiring vocabulary is a skill to be taught within subject context to cause new language to “stick” in the mind and become useful in rhetoric (the art or study of using language effectively and persuasively). Dr. Adams will demonstrate how to make vocabulary acquisition a skill by teaching word analysis. 2.5 hours, taught by Dr. Carole Adams.
