Literature and English

 

The Principle Approach method lends itself to unit studies. As in the case with third grade, a student’s literature lesson will often include a history lesson. The subjects work together to form a whole curriculum that comes alive through the study of providential history in every subject.

 

Hans Brinker or the Silver Skates: $6.00

Written in 1865, this classic has the theme of family love and devotion under stress, and 21 chapters that touch upon Dutch art, architecture, music, and history. Bible and Reading

Third Grade Focus: Learning to Read

 

Kids’ Study Bible, NIrV: $25.95

This Bible, translated with beginning readers in mind, is ideal for third grade students. A variation of the popular NIV, the Kids’ Study Bible uses straightforward vocabulary. Foreign Language
